The Black Hills National Forest calls them forest service roads, but some riders call them 82′ non-width restricted trails. Many of these forest service roads are trail-like!
These are the trails the wider machines can legally use. Some of these trails are open year-round. These are the trails that often take you into the mystery and history of the Black Hills.
There are over 3,000 miles of these forest service road, 82″ non-width restricted trail-like trails. These trails are numbered on the MVUM, with three digit numbers like 201 or 201 2A.
A great set of trail-like Forest Service roads that takes you into the heart of the 2000 Jasper fire area. Here you will see more of the Black Hills than anywhere else, because the old trees are gone and small seedling now take there place. The rock outcroppings and valley areas are more visible here.
In the area of the Jasper drive are the Agate Beds and the Jasper Cave.
Choose a cool day to make this drive because shade trees are spaced far apart.

A water features in the area, and they are few, is Blacktail Spring.
An old buildings in this area is the Jasper Cabin.
There are no restrictive width trails on this ride.
Connecting rides include; Elk Mountain Ride, Four Corners Ride, Richardson Ride, Summit Ridge Ride and the Jewel Ride.
Parking for the Jasper Ride is along Highway 16.
