An extensive gold prospect before 1904, on Toll Gate Creek. A sawmill, a boarding house, four dwellings, an assay office, a blacksmith shop, and a powerhouse were built. Ore was explored by a 700-foot tunnel and several rises to the surface. The sole product was a low-grade graphite. (Black Hills Ghost Towns: Parker)
