If you do not mind a short walk up a beautiful canyon to see a waterfall, this one up Iron Creek in Spearfish Canyon is certainly worth the effort. Iron Creek fed by Iron Creek Lake to the West provides the visitor many incredible scenic sights. Take the trail to the falls or take the trail to the end of the canyon, a choice based upon your available time.
If you have time, stop at the Latchstring Inn for lunch or dinner. My favorite from the menu is the Garlic Ribeye and the Johnny Appleseed Dumpling.
