I first visited Tinton in 2011. My research promised I would see 10-12 buildings still standing. However as is true with all ghost towns, the sooner you visit the more you will see. Time has a way of removing evidence of history.
A fence and private land prevents a close look. But the visit is still worth the drive. Please respect the “No Trespassing” sign.
Tinton was a mining town and then provided a sawmill.
